Developing the concept of consequential senior European Union civil servants as sub-political policy entrepreneurs
Introduction
The editors identify and analyse the rich subfield that has developed in studies of personnel and professionals in various disciplines before passing in review the various contributions to this special issue
Conclusions
The editors conclude by underlining the need for enhanced interdisciplinarity rather than arguing for the existence of a distinct subfield. The various submissions have considered positions and powers but also trajectories and have also emphasised indicators and gone beyond typical monolithic administrative concepts. They conclude with some pointers to future research
