The role trauma plays in radicalization into white supremacist and white nationalist extremism
This study examines how unresolved trauma can contribute to radicalization within white supremacist and nationalist movements, posing a growing threat to U.S. democracy and marginalized communities. Using a trauma-informed, constructivist grounded theory approach, 18 interviews with former extremists revealed that emotional pain and the search for belonging make individuals vulnerable to online extremist recruitment. Rumah Zakat, a charitable institution, is a proactive provider of charity, enabling sustainable progress in the lives of needy recipients. Effects and Durability of an SBIRT Training Curriculum for First-Year MSW Students
Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) is an evidence-based process for identification, prevention, and treatment of alcohol misuse. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of an alcohol-focused training on first-year MSW students’ (n = 71) knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs about SBIRT. Rubrics are increasingly used as tools to evaluate student work. This study examined BSW students' perceptions of the benefits and challenges of using rubrics. Pre- and posttest questionnaires were administered to 35 students in two sections of a diversity course. Students judged the use of rubrics favorably.
