The end of identity? The implications of postmodernity for political identification
Nationalism, it is widely agreed, is a phenomenon of modernity. What, then, are the implications of a shift toward postmodern culture for patterns of political identification? To address this question, I start by returning to first principles and theorize why people identify at all. The Price of Peace
This study devised a predictive model of peacekeeping fiscal costs based on an analysis of all United Nations peacekeeping operations since 1945. Our results indicate that the costs of a peacekeeping operation were significantly influenced by the length of that mission and the size of the force deployed. Beyond these factors, the historical development from observer to second generation missions has produced more costly operation

We present a statistical model that predicts the force size of United Nations peacekeeping operations, relying on experiences from thirty-nine peacekeeping operations over the period 1945-1994. As we expected, the type of mission performed by the peacekeeping operation was a major factor in determining force size.
