Agências e interações entre africanos e europeus nas expedições britânicas ao rio Níger (1825-1854)
Este artigo procura discutir a atuação de africanos que agiram como “intermediários” nas relações entre as expedições britânicas ao redor do rio Níger entre 1825 e 1854 e as sociedades africanas com as quais interagiram. Os relatos dessas expedições estão entre os primeiros que sistematicamente descreveram determinadas regiões do interior do continente em línguas europeias.
