Psychiatric disorders in psychosocially burdened mothers with young children
The occurrence of psychiatric disorders in mothers with young children seemed lower than previously reported, in the majority symptoms disappeared after 6 months. The study provides important information on the frequency of psychiatric disorders in this group and enables care services to be adapted to meet their needs
The association between neighbourhood socioeconomic status and parental mental health in the first years after birth – Cross-sectional results from the SKKIPPI project
We found no association between neighbourhood SES and mental health outcomes in parents in the first years after birth after adjusting for neighbourhood selection. Nevertheless, the unadjusted findings suggest that the occurrence of individual risk factors and mental health problems was highest in neighbourhoods with low/very low SES, which should be focus for social and preventive health measures
Assessment of Psychosocial Stress and Mental Health Disorders in Parents and Their Children in Early Childhood
The study showed that a substantial proportion of parents are burdened by psychosocial problems and suffer from mental health problems in the first years after the birth of their children. Promotion of Physical Activity Using Point-of-Decision Prompts in Berlin Underground Stations
To evaluate point-of-decision prompts in the promotion of stair use in Germany, motivational posters were placed at three underground stations in Berlin. The proportion of passengers using stairs or stairways was counted before, during installation, and two weeks after removal of posters. In total, 5,467 passersby were counted.
