We examined the psychometric properties of the Borderline Personality Features Scale for Children (BPFSC-11) in a sample of n = 235 adolescents. This involved an exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). We meticulously assessed internal consistency, convergent, and concurrent validity by analyzing the relationship between BPFSC-11 scores and measurements of emotional dysregulation, self-efficacy, resilience, dep…

A Deviance Regulation Theory Intervention Affects the Association Between Narcissistic Traits and Alcohol Harm Reduction Strategies in College Students
Background: College students continue to report problematic alcohol use. To mitigate adverse outcomes, recent studies have employed harm reduction strategies known as Protective Behavioral Strategies (PBS). Deviance Regulation Theory (DRT), an impression management intervention, has been used to promote the use of PBS. DRT relies on impression management to modify behavior. This may be especially important for individuals with higher levels of tr…

Regression analyses indicated that DAFSV frequency was associated with higher depression and anxiety symptoms, higher loneliness, lower self-esteem, and lower perceived control. This stud…
Correlates of College Women's Sexual Assault Resistance Self-Efficacy
Studies suggest that actively fighting back against an attacker is effective in decreasing the severity and completion of a sexual assault, yet little is known about the factors that contribute to women's confidence in fighting back. Accordingly, the present study examines correlates of college women's self-efficacy in resisting unwanted sexual advances ( N = 650). Results suggest that fewer psychological barriers to resistance, greater sexual co…
