Impacts of the humid climate on the development of two ancient civilizations on the northeastern margin of the Qinghai–Xizang Plateau
Global dry-wet patterns under various driving factors and their applications in projecting the future
The evolution of river systems under the influence of climate change and human activities in the endorheic zones during the Holocene
Endorheic river basins and their terminal lakes are highly sensitive to climate change and human activities. Based on chemical and pollen indicators, lake level, and erosion/accumulation rates of rivers, we explore the phasing of the evolution of the river system in the Hexi Corridor during the Holocene. The results suggest that climate change dominated the evolution of the river system during the early-Mid-Holocene. Entering the historical perio…
An Automated Mapping Method of 3D Geological Cross-Sections Using 2D Geological Cross-Sections and a DEM
With the three-dimensional (3D) geological information system development, 3D geological cross-sections (GCs) have become the primary data for geological work and scientific research. Throughout past geological surveys or research works, a lot of two-dimensional (2D) geological cross-section maps have been accumulated, which struggle to meet the scientific research and application needs of 3D visual expression, 3D geological analysis, and many ot…
