This article considers the contribution of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) to the grave breaches regime as the first body to systematically apply these provisions, and argues that the jurisprudence has breathed life into the regime. Young people and their leisure in former communist countries
This paper interrogates four theses against data from 1997 surveys among a total of 900 young people in Armenia, Georgia and Ukraine. Three of the theses - that post-communist youth at leisure are divided primarily by their various (postmodern) youth cultures, immiseration, and that money has become the main stratifying factor - are rejected. This article discusses the character of Britain's youth cultures at the end of the 1980s using evidence from the ESRC 16–19 Initiative's longitudinal studies among representative samples from four parts of Britain. The females had the highest social contact scores and equalled the males' levels of overall leisure activity. Unemployment and Young people's Leisure in Liverpool and Swindon
This article arises from surveys between 1987 and 1989 among representative samples of 16–20 year olds in Swindon and Liverpool. The young people in the former town ran the lower risk of unemployment, had the higher paying jobs and higher personal incomes on average, and, therefore, the higher levels of leisure spending.
