Excavations at Le Mura di Santo Stefano, Anguillara Sabazia
La relazione presenta i risultati degli scavi condotti tra il 1977 e il 1981 presso le imponenti rovine note come Le Mura di Santo Stefano, situate vicino Anguillara Sabazia, appena 3 km a sud del Lago di Bracciano. Multimethodological approach to study and characterize Forum Novum (Vescovio, central Italy)
The paper presents the results of an on‐going study of the Roman town and early medieval bishopric of Forum Novum at Vescovio in the middle Tiber valley to the north of Rome. The work forms part of the British School at Rome's Tiber Valley Project, which studies the changing landscapes of the middle Tiber valley as the hinterland of Rome through two millennia, from 1000 BC to AD 1000. At Forum Novum a range of remote sensing techniques are being …

Forum Novum–Vescovio
The Roman town of Forum Novum lies in the Sabine hills to the northeast of Rome. Its study forms part of the British School at Rome's Tiber Valley Project, a collaborative research initiative which studies the Tiber valley as the hinterland of Rome, tracing the impact of Rome's development on the history of its settlement, economy, and cultural identity from 1000 B.C. to A.D. 1300 (Patterson and Millett 1999; Patterson et al. 2000) (fig. 1). The …

Pottery making in upper Egypt
Despite the enormous importance of pottery to the archaeologist, detailed ethnoarchaeological studies of pottery production are rare, and tend to concentrate on the most primitive forms of pottery production. The study of the potteries and clay mines at Deir el‐Gharbi, Upper Egypt was undertaken with this in mind. The potteries are of a type defined by David Peacock as a ‘rural nucleated pottery industry’, they produce large amphora‐like vessels …
