    1975年在雲夢睡虎地十一號墓中出土的《編年記》,自從發現以來,頗引起學 術界的興趣。不過,它主要成竹簡研究的對象,而從中國史學史的角度來探討 還很少。本文將以此角度加以論述,全文共分四節。第一節略述以往對《編年記》書寫及其作者問題的討論。前此研究者多將《編 年紀》分為上、下兩部分,認為下部分作者為墓主“喜”。拙亦將之分為兩部 分.但不從書寫分,而是從内容、語言表述風格來區分。上部分從上欄第-號 簡到五十-號簡(即秦昭士:五十一年)專門記秦軍事(除二簡後來補書家事); 下部分包括上欄第五十二、五十二號簡及下欄全部簡,皆記大事和家事。第二節討論二個問题。其一,《編年記》中用二次“正月”,沒有避諱秦始皇 名“政”;其二,用不恭敬的“死”字來記錄二位秦王的逝世;其二,沒有兼 併六國的記載。不過,拙認為,這三個使人驚奇的現象不足以推論墓主是反對 秦始皇統一的楚國遗民。第三節,為了進一步瞭解《編年記》的結構與内涵,本文建議將年表形式記錄 分為兩種類型,甲種旨在獨立記錄單純事件(例如《汲冢竹書紀年》…
