The Goths in Taurica
This paper reopens the question of possible onomastic relics of the Crimean Goths preserved in Byzantine epigraphy of the peninsula. Christian Identity of the Crimean Goths
The newly found Gothic inscriptions from Crimea reopened the question of the Christian identity of the Crimean Goths in its interrelation with the Greek-Byzantine environment. Bravlin—Brave or Humble
The paper focuses on the name of the barbarian warlord that appears in the Slavic and (recently discovered) Armenian versions of the Life of St. Stephen of Sougdaia as Бравлинъ and Պրաւլիս /Praulis/, respectively. These forms seem to point to Πραῦλις or Μπραῦλις in the lost Greek Vorlage.
