  • Illuminating the Late Mesolithic

Open Access•Carl Heron, Søren Andersen et al.•ARTICLE•Antiquity•2013•Citada por: 17•Referências: 23

Shallow oval bowls used on the Baltic coast in the Mesolithic have been suggested as oil lamps, burning animal fat. Here researchers confirm the use of four coastal examples as lamps burning blubber—the fat of marine animals, while an inland example burned fat from terrestrial mammals or freshwater aquatics—perhaps eels. The authors use a combination of lipid biomarker and bulk and single-compound carbon isotope analysis to indicate the origin of…

  • Carbon and nitrogen isotope signals in eel bone collagen from Mesolithic and Neolithic sites in northern Europe

    Open Access•H K Robson, Harry Robson et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Archaeological Science•2012•Citada por: 20•Referências: 6

  • Activating transference without consciousness

Noah S Glassman, Susan M Andersen et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Personality and Social…•1999•Citada por: 15

Two studies examined nonconscious transference in social perception, defined as inferences about a new person based on a subliminally triggered significant-other representation (e.g., S. M. Andersen & S. W. Cole, 1990). In a nomothetic experimental paradigm involving idiographic stimuli, participants believed they were playing a computer game with another participant while exposed to subliminal descriptors from either their own, or a yoked partic…

  • The structure and function of the Greenland Health Services

    Open Access•Søren Andersen, Søren Kaj Andersen•ARTICLE•Polar Record•1974

Greenland, the world's largest island, stretches some 2 700 km from north to south and about 1 050 km from east to west. It has a total area of 2175 km 2 , five-sixths of which is covered by an ice sheet. About 40 000 Greenlanders and 7 000 Danes inhabit a coastal ice-free area of about 150 000 km 2 , most of which is in south-west Greenland. Since 1953, Greenland has been an integral part of the Kingdom of Denmark and is represented by two elect…
