Με ευκαιρία τις δοκιμαστικές σκαφές που πραγματοποιήθηκαν από τη Γαλλική Αρχαιολογική Σχολή, στο θέατρο του 'Αργούς, ανακαλύφθηκαν το 1981/82 μέσα σε μια τάφρο πολλές εκατοντάδες θραύσματα από πήλινα αγαλματίδια και μήτρες, κατάλοιπα ενός εργαστηρίου κοροπλαστικής. Ανάμεσα στα πήλινα αντικείμενα βρίσκεται και η γελοιογραφική παράσταση του θέματος μας : δύο παλαιστές που μπορεί να χρονολογηθούν, σύμφωνα με την τεχνοτροπία τους, στα τέλη του 3ου αι…

Περιείχε περισσότερα άπό 1000 θραύσματα πήλινων ειδωλίων καθώς καί 63 θραύσματα άπό μήτρες. Τά ειδώλια άπό τά δποΐα ορισμένα είναι χειροποίητα, κατανέμονται άπό τόν 6° μέχρι τίς αρχές του 3ου αί. π.Χ. μέ περίοδο ακμής τόν 5° αι. π.Χ. Ό τυπολογικός πλούτος του υλικού μας δίνει μιά γενική εικόνα της ανάπτ…
