The purpose of this paper is twofold; first, we seek to understand the professional roles of officials from state education agencies (SEAs) charged with overseeing school counseling. Second, the study examined how SEA officials carry out their work supporting school counselors. This study explores the prevalence and implementation of four key school counseling policies at the state level and to what extent they are monitored for positive impact on the school counseling profession. Cultural Mistrust and Social Media Relationships
This study sought to examine the suitability of the Cultural Mistrust Inventory (CMI) items for contemporary interracial social relationships on social media. Using structural equation modeling, we examined if experiencing racialized aggressions on social media affects the mental health of students of Color (n = 692). We also examined the relationships between these experiences and ethnic identity, campus interactions, sense of belonging, campus climate, and mental health. Measuring Racist Aggressions on Social Media and the Effects on U.S. College Students of Color
The Racist Aggressions on Social Media (RASM) survey, with adapted scales to social media, was developed and tested.
