  • Ethno-Racial Differences in the Effectiveness of Housing First on Healthcare Utilization Among Homeless Adults with Mental Illness

Open Access•James Lachaud, Ayan A Yusuf et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Racial and Ethnic…•2026•Referências: 29

This study evaluates the impact of the Housing First (HF) intervention on healthcare utilization among homeless adults with mental illness, comparing ethno-racial (ER) and non-ER groups with moderate mental health support needs. We linked data from the At Home/Chez-Soi (AH/CS) randomized controlled trial with health administrative data from Ontario, including the Ontario Health Insurance Plan and several healthcare databases (e.g., Discharge Abst…

  • Analysis of Philip Morris International’s ‘aspirational’ target for its 2025 cigarette shipments

    Open Access•John Mehegan, Allen W A Gallagher et al.•ARTICLE•Tobacco Control•2024

PMI's 2025 target was not 'aspirational' but highly conservative-it would have been met based on pre-existing trends in declining cigarette shipments. Yet PMI will nonetheless fail to meet that target providing evidence it is not transforming. Stalling of the decline of PMI and global cigarette sales raises significant concerns about progress in global tobacco control

  • Maternal dietary quality during pregnancy and child appetitive traits at 5-years-old

    Open Access•Anna Delahunt, Marie C Conway et al.•ARTICLE•Appetite•2022•Referências: 57

Maternal diet during pregnancy is an important determinant of birth outcomes and offspring health. The relationship between maternal diet quality during pregnancy and the development of appetitive traits in early childhood has not been extensively researched. We examined associations of maternal diet quality during pregnancy with child appetitive traits at 5 years old. This is a secondary analysis of the ROLO longitudinal birth cohort study. We a…

  • School sociodemographic characteristics and obesity in schoolchildren

    Open Access•Silvia Bel-Serrat, Mirjam M Heinen et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2018

School socioeconomic status was a strong determinant of overweight and obesity in Irish schoolchildren, and these associations were age- and sex-dependent. School location was not associated with overweight or obesity. There remains a need to intervene with school-aged children in disadvantaged schools, specifically among those approaching adolescence, to prevent a trajectory of obesity into adult life

  • Parental population exposure to historical socioeconomic and political periods and grand-child’s birth weight in the Lifeways Cross-Generation Cohort Study in the Republic of Ireland

    Open Access•Cilia Mejia-Lancheros, John Mehegan et al.•ARTICLE•SSM - Population Health•2017

Exposure to deprived socioeconomic conditions during the peri-conception and early childhood periods can have a negative long-term impact on individuals' health and that of their progeny. We aimed to examine whether relatives' birth period affected index-child (grand-child) birthweight status in the Lifeways Cross-Generation Cohort in the Republic of Ireland. Participants were 943 mothers and offspring, 890 fathers, 938 maternal grandmothers (MGM…
