The purposes of this study were (1) to show that a previously established relationship between female sexual enjoyment and self‐actualization also holds for males and (2) to demonstrate that sexual enjoyment of males and females is related to the actualization of their sexual partners. Ego identity status interviews were conducted with 53 male college seniors who hadparticipated in a previous study of identity development during the freshman year.As hypothesized, significant increases in the frequency of students in the identityachiever status were observed for both occupational and ideological identity. Relationship between freshman ego identity status and subsequent academic behavior
