Is Zoom viable for sociophonetic research? A comparison of in-person and online recordings for vocalic analysis
In this study, we explore whether Zoom is a viable method for collecting data for sociophonetic research, focusing on vocalic analysis. A digital ethics of care (DEC) framework was initially developed with adolescents (11 to 18-years) to provide an infrastructure for understanding their digital social and emotional literacy, focusing on their ability to understand emotions and build respectful relationships online. Recent changes to the law in England require all primary schools to teach Relationships Education and all secondary schools to teach Relationships and Sex Education (RSE).
