Association between malnutrition and all-cause and cardiovascular mortality in Chinese adults with hypertension
Malnutrition independently increases the risk of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality in individuals with hypertension
The combined effect of geriatric nutritional risk index and abdominal obesity on peripheral arterial disease in an elderly hypertensive population
Patients with abdominal obesity may be at risk of a double burden of obesity and malnutrition, which may lead to an increased burden of disease. A total of 4,735 elderly hypertensive patients aged ≥ 60 years were included in the final analysis in this prospective study, which started from May to August 2018. Cox multivariate regression model was used to explore the association between geriatric nutritional risk index (GNRI) and new-onset peripher…
Associations of combined lifestyle behaviors with all-cause and cardiovascular mortality in adults
Background Data are limited on the impact of combined lifestyle behaviors on mortality in Jiangxi Province, China. Objective The study examined the association between combined lifestyle behaviors and all-cause and cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality in Jiangxi province. Methods The baseline survey was completed in Jiangxi Province from November 2013 to August 2014. We conducted a follow-up on 12,608 participants of 35 years of age or older fr…
The prevalence and characteristics of metabolic syndrome according to different definitions in China
The prevalence and characteristics of the MetS vary with the definition used in the Chinese population. The three MetS definitions are more consistent in men but relatively poor in women. On the other hand, even if estimated according to the definition of the lowest prevalence, MetS is common in China
Elevated Serum Bisphenol A Level in Patients with Dilated Cardiomyopathy
Our findings firstly demonstrated that BPA exposure increased in DCM patients compared with that in healthy controls, while FAI and T levels decreased. SHBG presented a positive association with BPA. It is concluded that hormone disorder induced by BPA exposure might be an environmental factor in the pathology of DCM
Impact of remnant cholesterol on arterial stiffness and mediating role of systolic blood pressure in chinese hypertensive adults
RC is positively associated with arterial stiffness in hypertensive adults, particularly those with poor blood pressure control. Independent of other traditional lipid markers, RC may serve as a target for the prevention of developing arterial stiffness in hypertensive patients
