Teaching humanism and racial justice effectively in medical education with implementation of the Presence 5 for racial justice curricula
Anti-racism curricula in graduate medical education (GME) have expanded; evaluation gaps persist. Evaluate Presence 5 (P5) and Presence 5 for Racial Justice (P5RJ) curricula across GME programs, using RE-AIM framework. Mixed methods evaluation including pre- post- surveys and rapid qualitative analysis. Reach: Sixty-eight residents provided survey responses at pre- (n = 38, 55.9%), post- (n = 11, 16.2%), or both (n = 19, 27.9%) timepoints. P5 and…
Hospital-Level Variation in Covid-19 Treatment Among Hospitalized Adults in the United States
STUDY DESIGN: Retrospective cohort study. OBJECTIVE: To characterize variation in dexamethasone and remdesivir use over time among hospitals. BACKGROUND: Little is known about hospital-level variation in COVID-19 drug treatments in a large and diverse network in the United States. METHODS: We selected individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 across 163 hospitals between February 23, 2020 and October 31, 2021 from using the HCA CHARGE, an electronic…
Navigating the Landscape of Precision Education
A central goal of precision education (PE) is efficiently delivering the right educational intervention to the right learner at the right time. This can be achieved through a PE cycle that involves gathering inputs, using analytics to generate insights, planning and implementing interventions, learning and assessing outcomes, and then using lessons learned to inform modifications to the cycle. In this paper, the authors describe 3 PE initiatives …

Factors Associated With US Adults’ Likelihood of Accepting Covid-19 Vaccination
Importance: The development of a coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine has progressed at unprecedented speed. Widespread public uptake of the vaccine is crucial to stem the pandemic. Objective: To examine the factors associated with survey participants' self-reported likelihood of selecting and receiving a hypothetical COVID-19 vaccine. Design, Setting, and Participants: A survey study of a nonprobability convenience sample of 2000 recruite…
