  • Environment and man in the Late Palaeolithic — Middle Ages in the southern Primorye

    Open Access•M S Lyashchevskaya, V B Bazarova et al.•ARTICLE•Vestnik arheologii, antropologii…•2023

Questions concerning the effect of environment on appearance, development and disappearance of ar-chaeological cultures in the territory of southern Primorye have been addressed in the article. The chronological framework of the research is from the Late Palaeolithic through to the Middle Ages. Thirty three natural sections of different genesis have been examined for reconstruction of the Late Pleistocene — Holocene environment. Palynological, di…

  • Late Pleistocene–Holocene environmental and cultural changes in Primorye, southern Russian Far East

    Open Access•M S Lyashchevskaya, V B Bazarova et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2022

This article presents an analytical review of the available palaeoenvironmental and archaeological records from the southern part (ca. 42°18′–45°30′N) of Primorye spanning the last ca. 21,000 years. The outlined climate and environmental history of the coastal and continental zones of southern Primorye, based mainly on vegetation reconstructions derived from the study of fossil pollen from sedimentary deposits from various archives, is compared w…

  • Palynological Research of Bohai Abrikosovsky Settlement (Primorsky Krai)

    Open Access•M S Lyashchevskaya, V B Bazarova et al.•ARTICLE•Povolzhskaya Arkheologiya (The…•2022•Referências: 1

For the first time palynological research was carried out on the Abrikosovsky settlement, located in the Krounovka river valley. This site is dated back to the epoch of the Bohai state (698–926). It was determined that during its existence there were transformations of surrounding landscape associated with climatic and anthropogenic causes. Several stages of the settlement development have been defined. Pollen of cultivated, edible wild plants an…

  • Palaeoenvironmental and climatic changes during the Late Glacial and Holocene in the Mongolia and Baikal region

    Open Access•Fedora Khenzykhenova, N I Dorofeyuk et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2021

  • Reconstruction of paleoenvironmental conditions of ancient people habitation in the Togootyn Gol River valley (Eastern Mongolia)

    Open Access•V B Bazarova, N V Tsydenova et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2019

  • New pollen records of Late Pleistocene and Holocene changes of environment and climate in the Lower Amur River basin, NE Eurasia

    Open Access•V B Bazarova, M A Klimin et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2008

  • C Chronology of Late Pleistocene–Holocene Events in the Nizhnee Priamurie (Southeast Russia)

    Open Access•V B Bazarova, L M Mokhova et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2003

The Russian Far East is characterized by widespread peat bogs with a sufficiently thick peat accumulation. A series of radiocarbon dates from the studied peat bogs (in Lower Amur) were obtained. Analysis of these dates shows that the total peat formation in this territory began in the Late Pleistocene–Holocene (11830 ± 820, TIG-157; 9975 ± 120, SOAN-4025). The rates of peat accumulation and the humidity index were counted. In addition, the botani…

  • Holocene climatic changes and environmental history of Iturup Island, Kurile Islands, northwestern Pacific

    Open Access•N G Razjigaeva, A M Korotky et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2002•Citada por: 4•Referências: 2

The study of Holocene deposits on Iturup Island is very important for understanding palaeolandscape changes on the island. It is separated by deep straits from the neighbouring islands and was isolated during the last glacial maximum. Landscape changes over the last 40000 years and the role of refugia on vegetation development are discussed. Changes in natural processes in this region were controlled both by global climatic changes and by regiona…

  • Middle-and late-Holocene environments and vegetation history of Kunashir Island, Kurile Islands, northwestern Pacific

    Open Access•A M Korotky, N G Razjigaeva et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2000•Citada por: 3•Referências: 2

Natural middle-and late-Holocene environmental development of Kunashiri Island reflects global climatic changes and the migration of warm and cold currents. Dry and cool climate changed to warm and moist about 7000–6500 BP, later than on Hokkaido Island. At this time Kuroshio Current system became more active. On Kunashir Island birch assemblages were replaced by cool-temperate broadleaf forests in the south and mixed coniferous/broadleaf forests…

  • C Dating of Late Pleistocene–Holocene Events on Kunashir Island, Kuril Islands

    Open Access•V B Bazarova, N G Razjigaeva et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•1997

Kunashir Island is a very important site for paleoenvironmental reconstructions. Until recently, very little information on Quaternary deposits was available. We studied the environmental evolution of this oceanic island under the influence of geomorphological processes, volcanism and strong marine currents. This paper presents new data that allow a detailed reconstruction of the environmental development of Kunashir Island during the Late Pleist…

  • C Ages of Tephra Layers from the Holocene Deposits of Kunashir Island (Russian Far East)

    Open Access•N G Razjigaeva, T A Grebennikova et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•1997•Referências: 3

Holocene deposits from the central and southern regions of the Kunashir Island contain tephra from 12 volcanic eruptions (Kn1–12). We studied radiocarbon data, mineralogical composition, and distribution of the tephra layers in different Holocene facies. The main sources of the Holocene tephra samples were the volcanoes of Hokkaido Island. The distribution of ash layers on Kunashir Island allows us to estimate their direction. Ash layers can be r…
