Fathers on Parole
This study, based on semi-structured interviews with 16 fathers on parole, focuses on perceived challenges experienced during their time in prison and post-release. Analysis of narrative accounts identified three areas of concern: challenges to the father–child social bond, challenges within correctional and related oversight systems, and challenges involving gatekeeping by mothers/caretakers, visitation, and custody.
