Vasari’s Biography of Bazzi as ‘Soddoma’
In his famous Lives (second edition, 1568), Renaissance artist Giorgio Vasari addressed the painter Giovanni Antonio Bazzi as ‘Soddoma’ (implying sodomite) and described him as mad, eccentric, and bestial. Perrault's memoirs and Bernini
Gianlorenzo Bernini was invited to Paris by Louis XIV, from June through October 1665, to oversee his plan for the expansion of the Louvre.
