  • The independent and joint associations of community space environmental satisfaction, and parents’ educational attainment with psychological symptoms among Chinese adolescents

Open Access•Cunbi Bi, Qin Yang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2026

Background The prevalence of psychological symptoms among Chinese adolescents remains high, negatively impacting their academic performance and future achievements. Previous research has paid relatively little attention to the association between community space environment and parents’ educational attainment and psychological symptoms. This study may provide valuable insights and guidance for the prevention and intervention of psychological symp…

  • Insiders as outsiders

Open Access•Jian Dong, Qihui Zhou et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2026

Background: With the growing global interest in health protection and traditional medicine, acupuncture practitioners are receiving widespread international recognition. However, research on burnout among this professional group remains limited-particularly in the context of public hospitals. This study adopts a novel perspective that bridges acupuncture practitioners and occupational health, aiming to assess both burnout level and its determinan…

  • MRI identification of anatomical distribution of periosteal entrapment and its clinical outcomes in pediatric distal tibial Salter-Harris type II fractures

Open Access•Hengheng Zhang, Xiaoming Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Sports and Active…•2026

Distal tibial S-H type II physeal fractures are at high risk of concomitant periosteal entrapment, which is localized predominantly to the anterolateral corner of the distal tibial physis. Conservative management, CR-PF, and ORIF resulted in comparable functional outcomes without significantly increasing the risk of growth disturbances, indicating that residual entrapped periosteum may not adversely affect fracture healing or long-term prognosis

  • Life against algorithmic management

Open Access•Jian Dong, Guodong Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

Background: With the rapid development of global digital economy, burnout among food delivery riders has become an important public health issue. Although burnout has been widely studied, research on burnout among food delivery riders, particularly the impact of algorithmic management on riders' burnout remains limited. This study adopts a novel perspective on the intersection of algorithmic management and burnout, offering an in-depth examinatio…

  • An Adaptive Simplification Method for Coastlines Using a Skeleton Line “Bridge” Double Direction Buffering Algorithm

Open Access•Lulu Tang, Lihua Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2024

Aiming at the problem that the current double direction buffering algorithm is easy to use to seal the “bottleneck” area when simplifying coastlines, an adaptive simplification method for coastlines using a skeleton line “bridge” double direction buffering algorithm is proposed. Firstly, from the perspective of visual constraints, the relationship between the buffer distance and the coastline line width and the minimum recognition distance of the…

  • Semantic-aware automatic extraction method for bottom sediment annotations in raster nautical charts

Mengkai Ma, Jian Dong et al.•ARTICLE•Cartography and Geographic…•2024

The automatic extraction of bottom sediment annotations in large-scale raster nautical charts has limitations, including an imprecise semantic information description and low efficiency. To overcome them, we propose a convolutional neural network (CNN)-based method for the automatic extraction of bottom sediment annotations in raster nautical charts, using image processing techniques to improve it. First, an adaptive chart partitioning model that…

  • Lossless Watermarking Algorithm for Geographic Point Cloud Data Based on Vertical Stability

Open Access•Mingyang Zhang, Jian Dong et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2023

With the increasing demand for high-precision and difficult-to-obtain geospatial point cloud data copyright protection in military, scientific research, and other fields, research on lossless watermarking is receiving more and more attention. However, most of the current geospatial point cloud data watermarking algorithms embed copyright information by modifying vertex coordinate values, which not only damages the data accuracy and quality but ma…
