Mensius was, as far as I know, the first scholar who took the line that the rule of the Pisistratides was a divided one. Later on this was proved for a fact or taken for granted among others by Busolt, Stahl, Cornelius, von Wilamowitz, Swoboda, Hirsch, Hondius and Sch?lte.
