The Role of Obsidian in Folsom Lithic Technology
The vast majority of Folsom artifacts are made of chert, while comparatively few are made of obsidian, quartzite, or other rock types. A major programme of building recording and analysis was carried out by Northamptonshire Archaeology in 1993–94 during the conversion of Coombe Abbey, Warwickshire.
