  • Modern vegetation and its pollen spectra in the Cantabrian mountains, northern Iberian Peninsula, compared with fossil pollen records

    Open Access•Marc Sánchez-Morales, Ramón Pérez i Obiol et al.•ARTICLE•Vegetation History and…•2024•Citada por: 1•Referências: 7

The study of the pollen rain from modern vegetation has greatly improved the interpretation of pollen diagrams and our understanding of ancient plant communities. In this study, 76 pollen samples were studied from various vegetation types in Cantabria, northern Iberian Peninsula. The pollen signals of the main taxa were compared to their estimated spatial coverage at various scales (100 m, 1 km and 5 km from the sampling point) using vegetation m…

  • Late glacial and post-glacial deposits of the Navamuño peatbog (Iberian Central System)

  • Holocene high-altitude vegetation dynamics in the Pyrenees

Open Access•Raquel Cunill, Joan Manuel Soriano et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2013

  • Vegetation dynamics and anthropogenically forced changes in the Estanilles peat bog (southern Pyrenees) during the last seven millennia

    Open Access•Ramón Pérez i Obiol, Marie-Claude Bal et al.•ARTICLE•Vegetation History and…•2012•Citada por: 5•Referências: 7

  • Potential influence of Bond events on mid-Holocene climate and vegetation in southern Pyrenees as assessed from Burg lake LOI and pollen records

    Open Access•Albert Pèlachs Mañosa, Ramon Julià et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2011•Citada por: 4•Referências: 9

Superimposed on the long-term climate variability attributed to orbital forcing, there are other modes of variability covering timescales from interannual to millennial throughout the Holocene. Their signatures in climate proxy archives can differ substantially because of their lower magnitude and regional diversity. However, if identified they can yield better understanding of the physical mechanisms regionally linking causes and effects. Here w…

  • Mid-Holocene vegetation and climatic history of the Iberian Peninsula

    Open Access•Ramón Pérez i Obiol, Guy Jalut et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2011•Citada por: 29•Referências: 7

The aim of this research is to study the climate and vegetation history in the western Mediterranean, in the Iberian Peninsula, during the middle Holocene through pollen analysis. The origin of the deposits varied from the most xeric to more mesic Mediterranean environments. The timing, extent, and progress of the establishment of the Mediterranean climate have a degree of variability depending on the biogeographical region. Analyses of several p…

  • Holocene treeline changes on the south slope of the Pyrenees

Open Access•Raquel Cunill Artigas, Raquel Cunill et al.•ARTICLE•Vegetation History and…•2011•Citada por: 11•Referências: 11

  • Changes in Pyrenean woodlands as a result of the intensity of human exploitation

Open Access•Albert Pèlachs, Albert Pèlachs Mañosa et al.•ARTICLE•Vegetation History and…•2009•Citada por: 15•Referências: 2

  • Soil fertility evolution and landscape dynamics in a Mediterranean area

Open Access•Jordi Nadal, Albert Pèlachs et al.•ARTICLE•Area•2009•Citada por: 1•Referências: 16

The cartography of land covers was used to study fertility and soil evolution in a mountainous Mediterranean area during the anthropocene period ( Crutzen P J 2002 Geology of mankind Nature 415 23). The aim was to determine changes in fertility as agricultural lands were abandoned in the 14 000 hectare area that constitutes Sant Llorenç del Munt Natural Park in a pre‐coastal Catalan mountain range (north‐eastern Iberian Peninsula). The analysis o…
