  • A workplace-based learning program on clerkship of internal medicine improves medical student’s clinical competence

Open Access•Ji-nuo Wang, Hanbing Lv et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Medical Education•2026

BACKGROUND: Clinical competence is a core outcome of undergraduate medical education, yet traditional clerkships often lack structured observation and feedback. This study evaluated the effectiveness of a workplace-based learning program (WBLP) incorporating mini-Clinical Evaluation Exercises (mini-CEX) and Direct Observation of Procedural Skills (DOPS) into an internal medicine clerkship, and its impact on students' clinical competence and learn…

  • Combining network pharmacology and transcriptomics to validate and explore Shenqiyichang decoction in treating colorectal cancer by NQO1 inhibition, ROS activation and Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway

Open Access•Wen Cao, Zhou Zhou et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2026

  • The smog of exercise

Open Access•Wen Cao, Guangwen Cao et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

With the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization in China, air pollution has become an increasingly serious problem, and people are increasingly concerned about its impact on personal physical and mental health. From the perspective of health behavior, this study investigates the participation of residents in sports activities by examining fitness behavior and using temperature inversion as an instrumental variable for air polluti…

  • A Novel Approach for Mining Spatiotemporal Explicit and Implicit Information in Multiscale Spatiotemporal Data

Open Access•J Y Wang, Jianfei Wang et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2023

In the era of big data, a significant volume of spatiotemporal data exists in a multiscale format, describing diverse phenomena in the objective world across different spatial and temporal scales. While existing methods focus on analyzing the features and connections of spatiotemporal data at various scales, they often overlook the consideration of uncertainty in spatiotemporal information within the context of multiscale meaning. To effectively …

  • A Management Method of Multi-Granularity Dimensions for Spatiotemporal Data

Open Access•Wen Cao, Wenhao Liu et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2023

To understand the complex phenomena in social space and monitor the dynamic changes in people’s tracks, we need more cross-scale data. However, when we retrieve data, we often ignore the impact of multi-scale, resulting in incomplete results. To solve this problem, we proposed a management method of multi-granularity dimensions for spatiotemporal data. This method systematically described dimension granularity and the fuzzy caused by dimension gr…

  • Optimizing Spatio-Temporal Allocation of the Covid-19 Vaccine Under Different Epidemiological Landscapes

Open Access•Wen Cao, Jingwen Zhu et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2022

An efficient and safe vaccine is expected to allow people to return to normal life as soon as possible. However, vaccines for new diseases are likely to be in short supply during the initial deployment due to narrow production capacity and logistics. There is an urgent need to optimize the allocation of limited vaccines to improve the population effectiveness of vaccination. Existing studies mostly address a single epidemiological landscape. The …

  • School adjustment and bullying of Chinese left-behind children

Open Access•Da-Fei Feng, Dafei Feng et al.•ARTICLE•Social Behavior and Personality…•2022

Bullying has become a social concern in schools in China, and school adjustment is an important factor affecting bullying. We explored the mediating role of social support in the relationship between school adjustment and bullying among 600 left-behind children in junior middle schools in Shandong Province, China. The students completed the School Adjustment Scale, the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, and the Junior High School…

  • Analysis and Evaluation of Non-Pharmaceutical Interventions on Prevention and Control of Covid-19

Open Access•Wen Cao, Haoran Dai et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2021

As the threat of COVID-19 increases, many countries have carried out various non-pharmaceutical interventions. Although many studies have evaluated the impact of these interventions, there is a lack of mapping between model parameters and actual geographic areas. In this study, a non-pharmaceutical intervention model of COVID-19 based on a discrete grid is proposed from the perspective of geography. This model can provide more direct and effectiv…

  • The Influence Factors in Elementary and Junior High School Bullying - Based on the Interpretative Structural Modeling

Open Access•Wen Cao, Xianglan Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Revista de Cercetare si…•2020

To explore the root factors in school bullying for fundamentally preventing school bullying, interpretative structural modeling is applied to construct the multilevel hierarchical structure model for infl uence factors in elementary and junior high school bullying. The results reveal that psychological factors and habits are the direct factors in elementary and junior high school bullying, law enforcement, physiological factors, and national legi…

  • Choice, Self-Expression and the Spreading Alternatives Effect

Wen Cao, Hong Chen et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2009

  • A Hybrid Discrete Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm Based on Label Similarity for Solving Point-Feature Label Placement Problem

Wen Cao, Jiaqi Xu et al.

The artificial bee colony algorithm (ABC) is a promising metaheuristic algorithm for continuous optimization problems, but it performs poorly in solving discrete problems. To address this issue, this paper proposes a hybrid discrete artificial bee colony (HDABC) algorithm based on label similarity for the point-feature label placement (PFLP) problem. Firstly, to better adapt to PFLP, we have modified the update mechanism for employed bees and onl…

  • Progressive Reinforcement Learning for Point-Feature Label Placement in Map Annotation

Wen Cao, Yinbao Zhang et al.

In the era of information explosion, the effective configuration of labels on maps is crucial for the rapid comprehension of information. The point-feature label placement problem, particularly in large-scale and high-density scenarios with spatial mutual-exclusion constraints, is a classic NP-hard discrete optimization challenge. Existing metaheuristic algorithms (e.g., Simulated Annealing and Genetic Algorithm) often struggle to achieve high-qu…

Wen Cao, Fangwei Yuan et al.

We discovered Huangjing and its main active ingredient, β-sitosterol, can reduce HIF-1α, AKT1, JUN and RELA expression and decrease non-small cell lung cancer growth through the PI3K/Akt/HIF-1α signaling pathway
