STUDY OBJECTIVE: To investigate the prevalence and nature of low energy reporting in a dietary survey of British adults over 65 years of age. The impact of adult ill-health on household income and nutrition in Khulna, Bangladesh
This documents the large number of labour days lost by principal income earners in a low-income settlement (bustee) in Khulna, owing to illness or accidents. It also shows how the poorest households lost most work days, most income and much the highest proportion of monthly income and how this affected the nutritional status of different family members

This article presents preliminary findings from a study of urban slum households in Khulna, Bangladesh. Chronic incapacitating ill?health among principal household earners, almost all males, was found to have serious effects on households’ economic viability.
