Can authoritarianism retain continuous local innovation? A perspective of innovation ecosystem
The ‘decline thesis’ posits that centralisation of power often signals a decline in local government innovation. Drawing on the innovation ecosystem theory, however, we move beyond this thesis to discover the institutional resilience in top-down governance. Sex-specific associations of the Dietary Inflammatory Index with cardiovascular and non-cardiovascular mortality in hypertensive adults
In patients with hypertension, we found sex differences in the association between DII and CV mortality. High DII was only associated with increased CV mortality in females with hypertension, but not in males. Higher DII was also associated with increased non-CV mortality
Association between the number of pregnancies and hearing loss
Our findings demonstrated that a higher number of pregnancies was significantly associated with hearing loss, while birth control pill use appeared protective. These findings highlight the importance of recognizing potential auditory health implications associated with multiple pregnancies and may inform future public health strategies aimed at supporting women's hearing health across the reproductive lifespan
