  • Reconciling widely varying estimates of the global economic impacts from climate change

Open Access•Jennifer Morris, Steven K Rose et al.•ARTICLE•Nature Climate Change•2025

  • Ipcc, 2023

Katherine Calvin, Dipak Dasgupta et al.•REPORT•IPCC, 2023: Climate Change 2023:…•2023

The Summary for Policymakers (SPM) of the Synthesis Report (SYR) of the Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), is a component of the SYR which provides a policy-relevant but policy-neutral summary of the SYR. It is consistent with the Sections of the SYR and is approved line by line by the Governments at a plenary session of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

  • Ipcc, 2023

Katherine Calvin, Dipak Dasgupta et al.•REPORT•2023

The Synthesis Report (SYR) is a stand-alone synthesis of the most policy-relevant evidence from the scientific, technical, and socio-economic literature assessed in the Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The SYR distils and integrates the main findings of the three reports of the Working Groups of the IPCC during the AR6, and the three AR6 Special Reports into a concise document. It consists of …

  • Social cost of carbon pricing of power sector CO 2

    Open Access•John Bistline, Steven K Rose•ARTICLE•Environmental Research Letters•2018

In environments where climate policy has partial coverage or unequal participation, carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) emissions or economic activity may shift to locations and sectors where emissions are unregulated. This is referred to as leakage. Leakage can offset or augment emissions reductions associated with a policy, which has important environmental and economic implications. Although leakage has been studied at national levels, analysis of leakage …

  • Bioenergy and climate change mitigation

    Open Access•Felix Creutzig, N H Ravindranath et al.•ARTICLE•GCB Bioenergy•2015

Bioenergy deployment offers significant potential for climate change mitigation, but also carries considerable risks. In this review, we bring together perspectives of various communities involved in the research and regulation of bioenergy deployment in the context of climate change mitigation: Land‐use and energy experts, land‐use and integrated assessment modelers, human geographers, ecosystem researchers, climate scientists and two different …

  • The role of technology for achieving climate policy objectives

    Open Access•Elmar Kriegler, John P Weyant et al.•ARTICLE•Climatic Change•2014

  • How much land‐based greenhouse gas mitigation can be achieved without compromising food security and environmental goals?

    Open Access•Pete Smith, H Haberl et al.•ARTICLE•Global Change Biology•2013

Feeding 9–10 billion people by 2050 and preventing dangerous climate change are two of the greatest challenges facing humanity. Both challenges must be met while reducing the impact of land management on ecosystem services that deliver vital goods and services, and support human health and well‐being. Few studies to date have considered the interactions between these challenges. In this study we briefly outline the challenges, review the supply‐ …

  • The role of the social cost of carbon in policy

    Open Access•Steven K Rose•ARTICLE•Wiley Interdisciplinary Reviews…•2012•Citada por: 3•Referências: 1

Estimates of the marginal value of carbon dioxide—the social cost of carbon (SCC)—were recently adopted by both the U.S. and U.K. Governments in order to satisfy requirements to value estimated greenhouse gas (GHG) changes of new federal regulations. However, the development and use of SCC estimates comes with significant challenges and controversial decisions. This paper summarizes the key issues and then derives guidance for developing, selecti…

  • The representative concentration pathways

Open Access•Detlef P Van Vuuren, Jae Edmonds et al.•ARTICLE•Climatic Change•2011

This paper summarizes the development process and main characteristics of the Representative Concentration Pathways (RCPs), a set of four new pathways developed for the climate modeling community as a basis for long-term and near-term modeling experiments. The four RCPs together span the range of year 2100 radiative forcing values found in the open literature, i.e. from 2.6 to 8.5 W/m 2 . The RCPs are the product of an innovative collaboration be…
