Risk factors and predictive modeling of postpartum depression among postpartum women
Background: Postpartum depression (PPD) is a prevalent mental health condition that significantly impacts the wellbeing of mothers and their families. Early identification of high-risk women continues to be a challenge in public health practice. This study focuses on postpartum women in Chongqing, China, aiming to identify key psychosocial and demographic risk factors for PPD. The impact of stress experienced by sexual minorities on depression among chinese men who have sex with men
Men who have sex with men (MSM) are at high risk for depressive symptoms, partly due to stigma related to both sexual minority status and HIV. In the Chinese sociocultural context, sexual minority stigma is deeply intertwined with HIV-related stigma, shaping access to social support, intimate relationships, and mental health outcomes. In China, minority stress is also shaped by structural pressures such as strong family expectations regarding het…

This study aimed to investigate factors associated with HIV testing among MSM and analyze the potential relationship between HIV testing and these factors. Non-probability sampling was used to obtain samples, and an electronic questionnaire was used for cross-sectional survey. Lasso reg…
Exploring Typology and Determinants of Pre-exposure Prophylaxis Adherence Trajectories Among Men Who Have Sex with Men in Western China
Perceived support and perceived ability promote walking behavior in Chinese adults with chronic diseases
Background: Chronic diseases significantly contribute to global physical disability and mortality. Moderate-intensity aerobic activities, such as walking, are vital for managing chronic conditions. Research has shown that enhancing health literacy (HL) is crucial for promoting physical activity. Perceived social support (PSS) and general self-efficacy (GSE) affect HL. However, the effects of PSS and GSE on walking in patients with chronic disease…
Understanding Factors Influencing HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis adherence among men who have sex with men in Western China
The efficacy of Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is highly dependent on adherence. This study aimed to explore the factors influencing adherence among men who have sex with men (MSM) and their interrelationships, providing theoretical basis for the development of personalized intervention strategies. The data for this study came from a two-phase study of the PrEP demonstration project conducted among MSM in Western China from 2013 to 2023. Partici…
Epidemiological changes of scarlet fever before, during and after the Covid-19 pandemic in Chongqing, China
Children aged 3-7 years are the most affected population, particularly males, and kindergartens and primary schools serving as transmission hotspots. It is predicted that the high incidence of scarlet fever in Chongqing will persist in 2024 and 2025, and the outer districts (counties) beyond urban zone would bear the brunt of the impact. Therefore, imminent public health planning and resource allocation should be focused within those areas
Longitudinal relationship between pre-exposure prophylaxis motivation and change in adherence among men who have sex with men in Western China
There was a positive correlation between high PrEP motivation at baseline and an improvement in long-term adherence. Surveillance and intervention of PrEP motivation in MSM can increase their adherence, and then promote PrEP efficacy
Latent Trajectories and Risk Factors of Prenatal Stress, Anxiety, and Depression in Southwestern China—A Longitudinal Study
(1) Background: Few studies have explored the heterogeneity of trajectories of stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms during pregnancy. This study aimed to explore the trajectory groups of stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms in women during pregnancy and the risk factors associated with those groups. (2) Methods: Data came from pregnant women recruited from January to September 2018 in four hospitals in Chongqing Province, China. A structu…
Psychological Status of Men Who Have Sex with Men during Covid-19
Background: The psychological status of men who have sex with men (MSM) as a vulnerable population during COVID-19 is worthy of attention. However, studies of Chinese MSM are limited. The aim of this study was to investigate the psychological status and influencing factors of MSM population and to provide a scientific basis for this group to actively respond to public health emergencies. Methods: From June to September 2020, we conducted an onlin…
Associations Between Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers Concentrations in Human Placenta and Small for Gestational Age in Southwest China
BACKGROUND: Prenatal exposures to polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) may affect fetal growth. Small for gestational age (SGA) is a measure based on birth weight and gestational age at birth and represents a good indicator of fetal growth but it has been used only in a small number of studies. The present study aimed to examine the associations between PBDEs exposure and the risk of SGA among participants from a birth cohort in Southwest China…
Association between Meteorological Factors and Mumps and Models for Prediction in Chongqing, China
(1) Background: To explore whether meteorological factors have an impact on the prevalence of mumps, and to make a short−term prediction of the case number of mumps in Chongqing. (2) Methods: K−means clustering algorithm was used to divide the monthly mumps cases of each year into the high and low case number clusters, and Student t−test was applied for difference analysis. The cross−correlation function (CCF) was used to evaluate the correlation…
Factors Related to HPV Vaccination Intention among MSM in China
(1) Background: Men who have sex with men (MSM) are at high risk of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, and HPV vaccination is the best strategy to prevent HPV infection. Accepting HPV vaccination is an essential factor affecting vaccine promotion among MSM. We aimed to explore the factors related to HPV vaccination intention among MSM and analyze the potential relationship between these factors. (2) Methods: We adopted a nonprobability samplin…
The Influencing Factors of HIV-Preventive Behavior Based on Health Belief Model among HIV-Negative MSMs in Western China
(1) Background: Men who have sex with other men (MSMs) are at high risk of being infected by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in western China. Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is an efficient way to prevent HIV transmission. However, adherence is the most vital determinant factor affecting PrEP effectiveness. We conducted a study based on the Health Belief Model to explore factors that predict adherence to PrEP among a cohort of 689 MSMs in…

Methods : We conducted an open, non-randomized, multicenter, parallel, control…
The equity of China’s emergency medical services from 2010–2014
There are some inequities of needs, utilization, and resource allocation in the China EMS. The government needs to stick to the principle of increasing investment in poorer regions, perfecting ambulance configuration and improving health workers' professional skills to improve the equity and quality of EMS
Analysis of the equity of emergency medical services
In Chongqing city, equity of needs, utilization, and resources allocation of EMS is low, and the provision of such services has not met the needs of patients. To narrow the gap of equity, improvement in the capability of EMS to decrease cerebrovascular, cardiovascular, injury and poisoning cases, should be regarded as a top priority. In poor areas, allocation of facilities and human resources needs to be improved, and the economy should also be e…
