“If they made it, why not me?” increasing educational expectations of Roma and Moroccan immigrant families in Spain through family education
In Europe, Roma and immigrant students continue to experience great inequities, as they face the probabilities of educational failure, segregation, and early school leaving. Previous research has shed light on the multiple factors that perpetuate this situation. However, the role played by family involvement and family educational expectations have been considered to a lesser extent. This research delves into how Family Education programmes provi…

Bienestar Laboral en Centros de Acogimiento Residencial
En los centros de acogimiento residencial, se desempeña una labor fundamental en la atención y el apoyo a la infancia y la adolescencia protegidas. Model of psychosocial determinants of health in processes of social exclusion
The substantial increase in the number of families facing social exclusion in Europe and its direct relationship with health inequities is a challenge for studies approaching the social determinants of health and policies dealing with welfare and social inclusion. We start from the premise that reducing inequality (SDG10), has a value and contributes on other goals such as improving health and well-being (SDG3), ensuring quality education (SDG4),…
Teaching motivation, learning approaches, and academic success among prospective teachers in Catalonia (Spain)
Recent approaches to initial teacher education programmes consider non-academic qualities when selecting prospective teachers. The motivation to become a teacher is crucial in the admission to, progression in, and graduation from initial teacher education programmes. Previous research has highlighted the association between motivational factors and educational outcomes but not the underlying mechanisms. This study aimed to identify how the motiva…

Our research examines how teaching competences are built with regard to coordination, leadership, and collaboration with the community during teache…
Semi‐professional school leadership in Spain

Our research addressed semi‐professional school leadership in Catalonia, Spain, with a particular focus on differences in the managerial styles of men and women. In Spain, the school management system is semi‐professional which means that principals are teachers who take on leadership roles for lim…

Infanticide and cannibalism in a free‐ranging plurally breeding group of common marmosets ( Callithrix Jacchus )
Our study presents a detailed description of infanticide and cannibalism in a free‐ranging plurally breeding group of Callithrix jacchus . The 1‐month‐old infant was the daughter of the dominant female, and was attacked by the group's second breeding female. Two months later, the latter gave birth to twins and appeared to have become the dominant female. These findings confirm and extend previous reports of infanticide by pregnant female marmoset…
