The optimist’s arsenal
Purpose This study aims to investigate how and when dyadic ethical conflict influences workplace behavior. It proposes that such conflict heightens contact avoidance, which in turn reduces knowledge sharing and increases interpersonal deviance. Furthermore, the study proposes that employee dispositional optimism as a boundary condition that mitigates these negative effects. Design/methodology/approach This study adopted a multi-method approach. S…
Associations of ambient exposure to benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene with daily mortality
Long-term trends of impacts of global gasoline and diesel emissions on ambient PM 2.5 and O 3 pollution and the related health burden for 2000–2015
Global economic development and urbanization during the past two decades have driven the increases in demand of personal and commercial vehicle fleets, especially in developing countries, which has likely resulted in changes in year-to-year vehicle tailpipe emissions associated with aerosols and trace gases. However, long-term trends of impacts of global gasoline and diesel emissions on air quality and human health are not clear. In this study, w…
Association of Daily Exposure to Air Pollutants with the Risk of Tuberculosis in Xuhui District of Shanghai, China
Previous studies have suggested that air pollutant exposure is related to tuberculosis (TB) risk, but results have not been consistent. This study evaluated the relation between daily air pollutant exposure and TB incidence in Shanghai from 2014 to 2019. Overall, there were four pollutants that were positively related to the risk of new TB cases. After a 5 μg/m 3 increase, the maximum lag-specific and cumulative relative risk (RR) of SO 2 were 1.…
PM2.5 Concentration Exposure over the Belt and Road Region from 2000 to 2020
Ambient fine particulate matter (PM 2.5 ) can cause respiratory and heart diseases, which have a great negative impact on human health. While, as a fast-developing region, the Belt and Road (B&R) has suffered serious air pollution, more detailed information has not been revealed. This study aims to investigate the evolutionary relationships between PM 2.5 air pollution and its population-weighted exposure level (PWEL) over the B&R based on satell…
