Super PACs can raise and spend money in unlimited amounts, but what do they do with their money? What goals do super PACs pursue in allocating their money? We analyze how super PACS spent their money in the 2012 federal elections. What principles guided super PAC spending strategies? Do they follow strategies similar to traditional PACs? Party-Orchestrated Activities for Legislative Party Goals
Recent efforts by the congressional campaign committees (CCCs), the party organizations charged with electing candidates to the US House of Representatives, have been unusually proactive in pursuing House majorities. The CCCs convinced other party-related actors, such as the national committees, political action committees (PACs) and members of Congress, to help achieve majorities in the House. Students of politics are again asking how institutional patterns affect political outcomes. This article contributes to that stream of inquiry by revisiting V. O. Key's argument that the have-nots of society fare worse in "disorganized" political systems because the lack of cohesive political parties with clear constituency bases means that their interests will not be represented effectively. Pre-Election Political Polling and the Non-Response Bias Issue
Non-response bias is of great concern in pre-election political telephone polls, where the number of callbacks is far less than in most academic and government studies. The fewer number of callbacks raises the issue of whether there might be a greater non-response bias problem in such surveys.
