In this study the question, “Are theoretical and methodological orientation an expression of psychology majors' personalities?” was asked. To answer this question, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Theoretical Orientation Survey were given to 181 junior and senior psychology majors. Interference in a Paired-Associate Transfer of Training Paradigm as a Function of Breadth of Categorization
It was hypothesized that category width could differentially predict interference in an (A-Br) transfer of training paradigm. Equations were fitted to learning data obtained on the Number Facility (NF) subtest of the Repetitive Psychometric Measures. Ss were divided into three groups to increase the correlation between their individual scores and the resulting equations. The equations were derived from the pooled scores of two samples. After the administration of NF Ss were divided into 2 groups on the basis of their n-Ach score on the Edwards Personal Preference Schedule.
