Fagerstrom test for nicotine dependence vs heavy smoking index in a general population survey
The HSI can be used as a reasonably good screening test in order to identify daily smokers with high nicotine dependence. Nevertheless, for populations or subpopulations having low nicotine dependence, such as women, the FTND is more reliable
A meta-analysis of worldwide studies demonstrates an association between schizophrenia and tobacco smoking behaviors
Association Between the Menses and Suicide Attempts
OBJECTIVE: In our prior (first) study, suicide attempts were associated with the menses. The main hypothesis of this replication (second) study is that the proportion of suicide attempters during the menses is significantly higher than the expected probability in the general population. METHODS: Using the same methodology and setting, this replication naturalistic study included 120 fertile female suicide attempters with regular menstrual cycles …

The Relationship Between Menstrual Cycle Phases and Suicide Attempts
OBJECTIVE: The validity of prior studies on the menstrual cycle and suicide attempts assumes that suicidal women accurately describe their cycles. The three objectives of this study were 1) to explore whether prior inconsistencies are due to the effects of sample selection and method of assessment of the menstrual cycle, 2) to assess the relationship between the menstrual cycle phase and suicide attempts, and 3) to establish the role of sexual ho…
Clock Drawing in Schizophrenia
The Clock Drawing Test, a task sensitive to cognitive decline in neurological groups, was administered to 27 patients with schizophrenia. Clock drawings were scored for over-all global performance and the frequency of specific qualitative errors. Mean global performance scores indicated a small proportion of the sample was below the threshold typically used to identify dementia, and the patients displayed qualitative Clock Drawing deficits not fu…
