Usability of the Iddeas prototype in child and adolescent mental health services
Child and adolescent mental health services psychiatrists and psychologists expressed strong support for the IDDEAS clinical decision support system if better integrated in daily workflow. Further usability assessments and identification of additional IDDEAS requirements are necessary. A fully functioning, integrated version of IDDEAS has the potential to be an important support for clinicians in the early identification of risks for youth mental…
Breathomics profiling of metabolic pathways affected by major depression
According to the results of this study, the non-targeted breathomics analysis with high-throughput sensitive analytical technologies coupled to advanced computational tools approaches offer completely new insights into peripheral biochemical changes in MDD
Volatile Organic Compounds From Breath Differ Between Patients With Major Depression and Healthy Controls
Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a widespread common disorder. Up to now, there are no easy and frequent to use non-invasive biomarkers that could guide the diagnosis and treatment of MDD. The aim of this study was to investigate whether there are different mass concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the exhaled breath between patients with MDD and healthy controls. For this purpose, patients with MDD according to DSM-V and heal…
Analysis of structural brain asymmetries in attention‐deficit/hyperactivity disorder in 39 datasets
OBJECTIVE: Some studies have suggested alterations of structural brain asymmetry in attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), but findings have been contradictory and based on small samples. Here, we performed the largest ever analysis of brain left-right asymmetry in ADHD, using 39 datasets of the ENIGMA consortium. METHODS: We analyzed asymmetry of subcortical and cerebral cortical structures in up to 1,933 people with ADHD and 1,829 una…
Nitrous oxide use and psychiatric disorders
This study highlights the concerning life-time prevalence of N 2 O use in a clinical psychiatric sample, emphasizing the need for increased awareness and education regarding its potential risks and side effects. Given the vulnerability of this population to substance-related issues, routine assessment for N 2 O use should be integrated into standard psychiatric evaluations
