  • Lung adenocarcinoma risk in an area with seasonal high PM2.5 exposure

Open Access•Pak Thaichana, Patumrat Sripan et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2026

Background Air pollution exposure has been associated with increased lung cancer risk globally. However, evidence linking fine particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter of ≤2.5 micrometers (PM 2.5 ) to adenocarcinoma, the most common histological subtype of lung cancer, using the real-world data remains limited in Southeast Asia populations where air pollution levels are rising. This study aimed to investigate the association between averag…

  • Preferences for Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) among people who use drugs in Thailand

Open Access•Ajaree Rayanakorn, Piyameth Dilokthornsakul et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Drug…•2025

  • Comparison of Cholangiocarcinoma and Hepatocellular Carcinoma Incidence Trends from 1993 to 2012 in Lampang, Thailand

Open Access•Pianpian Cao, Laura S Rozek et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

Liver cancer is the most common cancer in Northern Thailand, mainly due to the dietary preference for raw fish, which can lead to infection by the parasite, O. viverrini , a causal agent of cholangiocarcinoma. We conducted a temporal trend analysis of cross-sectional incidence rates of liver cancer in Lampang, Northern Thailand. Liver cancer data from 1993-2012 were extracted from Lampang Cancer Registry. The multiple imputation by chained equati…

  • Disparities in the change of cervical cancer mortality rate between urban and rural Chiang Mai in the era of universal health care and the Thai national screening program

Open Access•Patumrat Sripan, Imjai Chitapanarux et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal for Equity…•2021

The UHC and national cervical cancer screening program in Thai women may have contributed to the reduction of the mortality rate of cervical cancer in the screening target age group. However, this reduction was primarily in urban areas of Chiang Mai, and there was no significant impact on mortality in more rural areas. These results suggest that the reasons for this disparity need to be further explored to equitably increase access to cervical ca…

  • Risk patterns of lung cancer mortality in northern Thailand

Open Access•Apinut Rankantha, Imjai Chitapanarux et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2018

There was distinct geographical variation in risk patterns of lung cancer mortality in Thailand. Differences could be related to differences in risk factors such as ground-based radon and air pollution. This study provides a starting point for estimating the spatial pattern of the risk of lung cancer mortality and for examining associations between geographic risk factors and lung mortality for further studies
