Validity of EQ-5D-5L breathing and cognition bolt-ons in non-hospitalized patients after Covid-19
The results support the validity of the two bolt-ons in follow-up of non-hospitalized patients after COVID-19. Adding items of respiratory and cognitive symptoms may enhance the EQ-5D's appropriateness in respiratory and cognitive research and clinical practice
EQ-5D-5L value set for Norway
This study provides the Norwegian value set for the EQ-5D-5L based on health state values obtained from members of the adult general population in Norway. This is an important contribution to economic evaluation and the broader application ofthe EQ-5D-5L in Norway including clinical and health services research, and quality measurement
Comparison of EQ-5D-3L and 5L versions following operative fixation of closed ankle fractures
The 5L outperformed the 3L in terms of data quality, number of health states assessed and tests of validity. The 5L is recommended in research and other applications following surgery for ankle fracture but further testing including responsiveness to change is recommended at clinically relevant follow-up periods
Norwegian population norms for the EQ-5D-5L
The population norms will improve interpretation of EQ-5D-5L and EQ VAS scores in Norwegian applications including clinical practice, clinical and health services research, and national quality registers where EQ-5D-5L is the most widely used patient-reported instrument
Evaluation of the stages of completion and scoring of the Patient Generated Index (PGI) in patients with rheumatic diseases
Validity of standard gamble utilities in patients referred for aortic valve replacement
Comparative responsiveness and minimal change of the Knee Quality of Life 26-item (KQoL-26) questionnaire
Continence specialists use of quality of life information in routine practice
EuroQol EQ-5D and condition-specific measures of health outcome in women with urinary incontinence
Functional ability in a population
This study presents population based normative data on functional ability, as measured by the NFAS. These data will serve as basis for the development of national population norms and are necessary for score interpretation. Data quality and test-retest reliability of the NFAS were acceptable
Patient experiences with information in a hospital setting
Quality of life measurement
Objectives: To assess the growth of quality of life measures and to examine the availability of measures across specialties. Design: Systematic searches of electronic databases to identify developmental and evaluative work relating to health outcome measures assessed by patients. Main outcome measures: Types of measures: disease or population specific, dimension specific, generic, individualised, and utility. Specialties in which measures have be…
Responsiveness of the SF-36 and a condition-specific measure of health for patients with varicose veins
Assessment of patients with menorrhagia
A New Approach to the Measurement of Quality of Life
Quality of life has been defined as "the extent to which our hopes and ambitions are matched by experience." To improve a patient's quality of life through medical care would be to "narrow the gap between a patient's hopes and expectations and what actually happens." Using the above definition as a conceptual basis, we produced a self-administered, Patient-Generated Index (PGI) of quality of life. The PGI was completed by 359 patients presenting …
The SF36 health survey questionnaire
OBJECTIVE--To assess the validity, reliability, and acceptability of the short form 36 (SF 36) health survey questionnaire (a shortened version of a battery of 149 health status questions) as a measure of patient outcome in a broad sample of patients suffering from four common clinical conditions. DESIGN--Postal questionnaire, followed up by two reminders at two week intervals. SETTING--Clinics and four training practices in north east Scotland. …
