The definition and measurement of engagement and adherence for digital mental health interventions
Digital Mental Health Interventions (DMHIs) are scalable and accessible, but low engagement and adherence limit their effectiveness. Varying definitions and measures of engagement and adherence hinder effective evaluation and comparison. This study explores individuals' reported frequency of lying to strangers and close friends as a function of (i) type of lie told (self-centered, other-oriented or altruistic) and (ii) attachment style in social relationships. One hundred university students (average age = 23.09, SD = 5.36) completed self-report questionnaires. The close friend could be either a best friend (N = 52) or a romantic partner (N = 48).
