    This study investigated how feelings of closeness at initial acquaintance encourage the development of shared stereotypic impressions of others through conversation. At least early in a relationship, closer dyads may be especially inclined to get along with one another.     A laboratory study and a questionnaire study examined, from an evolutionary standpoint, how relationship satisfaction and status relate to people's responsiveness to flirtation from a nonmate.
