Knowledge of chronic wasting disease (CWD), general disease risk sensitivity, and perceived trust in the agency as predictors of perceived risk of CWD to deer and humans
This article compared differences (χ2 and t-tests) and similarities (Structural Equation Models, SEM) between “non-deer hunters” (n = 900) and “deer hunters” (n = 623). Analyses examined four variable categories: (1) CWD knowledge, (2) general wildlife disease risk sensitivity, (3) trust in Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) to manage CWD, and (4) perceived CWD risks to deer and humans.
