Dotted ridges — The physical signs of diseases or normal developmental stage
The palm prints of Polish people (1475 adults and 702 children) were examined. The occurrence of dotted ridges on the palm was noted according to three categories. A higher percentage of dotted ridges was noted in children. They turned out to be more frequent in boys than in girls and in males rather than in females. Zbadano materiał obejmujący 80 rodzin, w których przynajmniej jedno spośród rodziców lub dzieci charakteryzowało się brakiem trójramiennika podpalcowego c. Stwierdzono, że procent dzieci odziedziczających brak trójramiennika waha się od 0-100. Wydaje się, że badana cecha jest silniej odziedziczana po matce niż po ojcu. The palmar area of the human hand situated between thenar and hypothenarwas called by Cummins and Midlo parathenar area and the pattern on it — parathenar pattern. Morphological relationship of this pattern to the hypothenar area is not certain. The frequencies of parathenar palmar pattern are: 0,3 - 0,4%. On female and male cranial series, the author traced the path shape of the supereyorbitrial (superorbitralis) blood vessels and nerves versus sex. It is found that typical for female cranials is a quite smooth border or a border with weakly marked incision (incisura).
