A Statistical Application for Determining Ceramic Assemblages at Disturbed Archaeological Sites
A computer-assisted correlation method, “PEARSON CORR,” is used to establish the underlying linear relationships among descriptive classes of pottery at a plow-disturbed archaeological site on the Georgia coast. Networks of correlated pottery classes are isolated and compared with previously defined pottery complexes on the coast. It is argued that the pottery networks reflect ceramic assemblages of cultural and archaeological significance
