Arapaho Historical Morphology
Although the phonological innovations that derive Arapaho from Proto-Algonquian are extensive, the historical origins of Arapaho inflectional morphology can be traced in almost all cases. Some new morphological categories and patterns have emerged, and some functions of inherited material have changed. Linguistic Variation in a Small Speech Community
The Munsee language as spoken on the Moraviantown Reserve in the late 1960s had extensive phonological, lexical, and morphological variation among the small number of surviving speakers. Word-initial high short vowels have two apparently unconditioned reflexes in Fox. Pre-Fox *o- ( o - and i - in some cases, but more frequently both become a -.
