In this article, we use historian Joan Scott’s concept of “paradoxical citizenships” to analyze three case studies: the constitutional proposals of 1925, 1980, and 2022 in Chile. By using intersectional and decolonial feminist perspectives, we will identify the continuities and ruptures that emerge by comparing and contrasting the paradoxical citizenships of the three periods, particularly the role of working-class women – workers, peasants, and …
