The Barbaricum – the lands beyond the borders of the Roman Empire – was a space of dynamic population movements, intensive trade contacts and long-distance war expeditions. The treasure of Roman denarii, found in the summer of 1987 at the settlement of the Iron Age Przeworsk culture at Gąski (Kuyavia, Poland), archaeological site no. 18, is well-embedded into this historical setting.
