Dog Pathologies in Central–Eastern Gaul During the Iron Age and Roman Period (500 bce– 400 ce )
This article presents an analysis of paleopathologies in dogs from the Iron Age through the Roman period (500 bce– 400 ce ) in Central–Eastern Gaul. The analysis focuses on the quantification of paleopathological traces in an attempt to identify changes in human–dog relationships between these two periods. À l’occasion d’une fouille et d’un diagnostic préventif réalisés par le Service archéologique de la Ville de Lyon, deux inhumations inédites de chiens (Canis familiaris) de très petite taille (20 et 25 cm au garrot) et datant du ier siècle ap. ont été mises au jour à Lyon.
