Vessel use at the Mycenaean Palace of Ayios Vasileios, Laconia, using Organic Residue Analysis
In Mycenaean palaces a wide range of consumption activities took place, from the most exclusive to mass-consumption. Investigating the earliest Bronze Age contacts between Sicily and the Levant
A pottery fragment found in a 14th-century BCE context on the tell of Beirut belongs to a vessel of the Thapsos type imported from Sicily and represents the earliest known Bronze Age Sicilian product that reached the Levantine coast. Human impact and landscape changes between 3000 and 1000 BC on the Tropea Promontory (Calabria, Italy)
Pollen data were collected from a one-meter peat succession recovered from the top of the Tropea Promontory (Calabria), a territory continuously inhabited throughout Prehistory and Protohistory. Pottery Production in Mycenaean Laconia
This paper deals with the provenance of Mycenaean pottery found in the palace of Ayios Vasileios in Laconia. It focusses on painted and plain fine wares and reports the results of neutron activation analysis (NAA). The analyzed ceramics cover all of the habitation phases of the palace as well as the short, post-palatial use of the site, i. e. LH IIB to LH IIIC Early 1 (ca. 1450–1180 BCE).
