Silence Isn't Necessarily Golden
Communication apprehension was found to be significantly negatively related to both middle-school students' attitudes toward school and final grades. In addition, communication apprehension was found to influence the choice of desired others made by students and their teacher in a classroom communication network. In general, communication apprehensive students were found not to be considered desirable communication choices by their peers
The Development of a Measure of Perceived Organizational Innovativeness
This paper presents the results of the development of a self-report measure of perceived organizational innovativeness (PORGI). The 25-item instrument was found to have excellent reliability, and construct and predictive validity. PORGI was found to be a significant predictor of four measures of employee job satisfaction. Employees' satisfaction with their own work was best predicted by individual innovativeness. In addition, both PORGI and indiv…

This paper reports the results of the development of a self-report measure of innovativeness. The utility of such an instrument in human communication research is discussed, together with issues relating to its reliability, validity, and association with social desirability
